Environmental Health

Responsibility for humans and the environment

For more than 75 years, the MEDICE Health Family has been passionately committed to advancing pharmaceutical innovation. In addition, the company is increasingly focused on the responsible use of resources and the preservation of natural foundations of life.

At the initiative of Managing Partner Dr. med. Katja Pütter-Ammer, the subsidiary sustainable4U was established in 2020. The company develops and implements projects in the areas of nutrition, the environment, and ecological health.

Action level Creation

Promotion of natural habitats and biodiversity

Within the CREATION action area, we support selected projects that promote biodiversity, including wildflower meadows, traditional orchard meadows, and initiatives dedicated to bee protection. Our focus is on bees as well as flowering and orchard meadow habitats. Healthy ecosystems and biodiversity are essential foundations for food production. Through sustainable4U, we are committed to long-term projects that help protect and strengthen nature as a particularly vulnerable and valuable resource.

Action level Development

Developing products and concepts

In the DEVELOP action area, we implement products and concepts that contribute to a balanced diet while taking environmental considerations into account. We currently focus on three fields of action: promoting health-oriented catering for employees and guests through our subsidiary Friend-Ship, developing advertising materials for both food and non-food sectors with a strong emphasis on resource efficiency, and planning and delivering events with the greatest possible consideration for environmental sustainability.

Action level Maintain

Reducing Food Waste

Within the MAINTAIN action area, we develop concepts that specifically reduce food waste and, in doing so, make the use of goods and resources in large-scale kitchens more efficient. Green Guides optimizes processes in commercial kitchens to help prevent food waste and promote more sustainable resource management.
